Evaluation 3

The main subject of this image is the window, i noticed how the tree has overgrown onto the window and noticed how horror like it looked. I took this picture for the purpose of the window, to me it means a scary horror image. The elements that make the picture work is the lines on the tree, it makes the picture look like it was taken in a neglect run down building or something, also the angle is good showing the window properly. I think the photo is good, this is one of my favorite without a doubt because in Photoshop i used overlaying and other effects to manipulate the window to make it look like a real horror image.

Good
  • Manipulation is good, the blood looks real.
  • The use of a real life tree to manipulate is interesting.
Bad
  • The image has cars in it which comforts me less than scares.
  • the texture overlay makes it look too fake.

Compared to a professional image mine looks fake, the professional image has no effects and is just a genuine photo of a scary window, although i used the use of branches to give the same neglect feel it just doesn't look as good as the professionals. My looks scarier just because of the blood i added onto the image, and the obvious scary overlay, with Photoshop the professionals image could be alot scarier than mine.

Evaluation 2

The main subject of the image is Alex, i took the picture of Alex on a blue background and then erased the background and overlay-ed Alex onto a brick wall texture. In order to make Alex remain the main subject. To me the photo is good because i wanted to make an album like cover using Alex. The photo is centered in order to attract the viewers eyes to Alex. in this image i didn't use any particular lines or shapes i just centered everything to make a symmetrical looking image to make it as tidy as possible. The photo could be improved by adding more into the image and giving it some more effects to make the image look more proffesional.

Good
  • Image is well centered
  • Good shading
  • Professional text
Bad
  • The image isn't very detailed
  • There isn't many other things in the picture
  • its quite boring

Compared to my photo the professional photo is alot more nicer looking it is more detailed, more effects and better looking text and also better choice of colors. My image doesn't compare to the professional image due to the detail that i missed out.

Evaluation 1

The main subject of this image is the door, i made it the main subject because i thought in my head of it being used as a horror image, the grungy texture of the door made perfect harmony with the various blood and grunge overlays.
The photo clearly draws attention to the door, i made this possible with the camera angle and also using Photoshop to add text onto the door. The elements of design i used were lines, i cut out the red lines that were on the door naturally changed the color of them and then used them to create the blood text.
The photo could be improved by maybe making it darker and adding more effects to promote the horror effect.
Good
  • How the image before was an ordinary door and i manipulated it to look older and more horror looking.
  • How it realistically looks like an actual set from a horror film.
Bad
  • The blood looks to perfect, in a way that there is no drips or stains around it.
  •  The image isn't dark enough it could look better with darker effects.

Compared to a professional photo mine looks alot more fake and maybe too much grunge added to a day time photo, the professional image has found a genuinely scary door with drawing and a genuine natural grunge approach.

In this image you can clearly see the damage, the sign itself is made of plastic and is to high up to grab and cause any type of injury.

In this image you can also see the amount of damage, the crack isn't really a health risk but is a clear sign of neglect.

This is the underneath of a building in school, the gap is easy to go underneath and because of the various nails and glass there is a real safety problem.

This is a picture of a piece of guttering that had fallen due to the wind, this is quite dangerous because the building it fell off was extremely high if the guttering had hit a pupil there could of been serious injury or fatality.

In these images i used Photoshop to manipulate Alex in different ways changing colors, background and light affects.

Before

After

In this image i added a lens flare and put it in a natural position and then used lighting effects to create a natural look, also i added a glow filter to make the sky light up. The after image looks better because the effects i have used make the image look happier than the orginal, not to mention less dark.

Before

After

I added a vignette and a high level of exposure to this particular image. The after image looks better because the exposure gives a summer glow effect, make the image look less grey than the original

Before

After

I added a lens flare, and used the lighting affect tool to create a subtle vignette. I used colour curves
and exposure to bring out the true colours. The after image looks better because the colours stand out alot more than the orginal image.

This is a simple picture of the ground.... the ridges and bumps look interesting.
This closeup gives a strong vibrant feeling, this is possible because of the vibrant colour.

This is a picture of some graffiti i found, its quite interesting to see all the faded names and marks from past generations.
This is my favrouite picture that i have taken, i saw a wet wall and decided to take this, the wetness is visible in the picture, also the erosion of the brick and the metal itself.
This is a common photo of our school, this picture is just a simple shot of the side of our old building...the wear and tear doesn't show in this picture.
This is a picture of grayhill, the lighting isnt exactly perfect in this, the clouds were blocking the sun. this picture follows the rule of thirds because the subject matter(the picture) is on the right.
This is a simple picture of a tree, the light wasnt very effective in this shot, but the natural sky light has defined the edges of the branch. this also follows the rule of thirds because the tree is on the left.
This picture is a mixture of a close up and a longshot, it shows the bark and the detail of the moss but also shows the true size of the tree and how effective a little camera trickery can be.

This is the folder that contains all my photos that i have used this year

Monday 20 January 2014

In this picture i used the eraser tool and erased the coloured picture, with a black and white picture behind so it gives this affect
In this picture i edited the picture to only include the colour of the eyes

firstly i created 2 images the same, changed one image to black and white, i then used colour range to select the eye colour. I then copy and pasted the colour and erased the coloured layer and i was left with this image.
